5.8 GHz Microwave Radio

The OptiQwave 8155 Microwave Protection Switch is designed to provide the confidence of radio redundancy for critical links. Placed between two OptiQwave 8310 STM-1 Digital Microwave radios, it provides monitored, automatic hot-standby protection. In case of any failure in the working unit, it will switch over to the standby unit within 1.5 seconds.

The OptiQwave 8155 Microwave Protection Switch operates in 5.8 GHz ISM band with STM-1 payload data capacity. Both fast Ethernet and RS232 craft interface port are provided for provisioning, diagnostics and network management. Through these ports of the Protection Switch unit, an operator can access both the working and standby OptiQwave 8310 units.
